Chiang Mai Night Safari was formed by public association in Chiang Mai, the city situated in heart of Indo-china,to follow the policy of the government increasing tourists and income then built the world class zoo and world class destination for eco-tourisms so everybody can study and learn about wild life animal and know how to conserve them.
Chiangmai Night Safari, currently the 3rd night safari in the world, has been crowded with visitors from Chiang Mai and neighbouring provinces every evening after it announced to the public to visit the place free of charge prior to its official opening on January 1st.
The Night Safari’s Public Relation Manager, Pantip Lertpradist, revealed that visitors to the project each night almost reaches 40,000 people and the number increases dramatically on the weekends, while visits to the two zones of Savanna Safari and Predator Prowl, which requires visitors to take a rail car, is limited to only 3,500 people per night.

The Night Safari is divided into three main zones: Savanna Safari, Predator Prowl and Jaguar Trail.
Savanna Safari Zone:Savanna Safari Zone: This is the exhibit zone for animals whose habitat is in African savanna. This zone includes over 320 hoofed herbivores. Chiang Mai Night Safari provides a tram in order to fully connect with the natural atmosphere. One tram can seat 60 people. The distance for one trip is 2.43 km. Most animals in this zone live free in the open excitement. Animals in this zone include Serals, Gorals, Gaurs, White Rhinoceroses, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Wild Yaks and Barasinghas.
Along the tour you will have the chance to see a replica of Wiang Kum Kam the historic lost city of Chiang Mai.
Predator Prowl Zone: This is the carnivorous animal zone which has 200 animals. Your journey among these wild beasts is filled with excitement every second. The tram is equipped with a safety system and has a capacity of 60 seats. The distance for one trip is 2.13 km. Animals in this zone include Tigers, Lions, African Hunting Dogs, Asiatic Black Bears, Crocodiles and Impalas.
Jaguar Trail Zone: Wrapping around Swan Lake you will have a chance to see over 400 animals of 50 species of smaller animals in an environment of enchanting flower gardens. The walking trail around the lake is 1.2 km. Animals in this zone include White Tigers, Jaguars, Capybaras, Clouded Leopards, Fishing Cats, Brazilian Tapirs, Orang Utans, Squirrel Monkeys, Crowned Cranes and Miniature Horse.
Since the demand to visit the site currently exceeds the actual capacity, all visitors who wish to visit the Savanna Safari, which houses non-dangerous animals such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, etc and Predator Prowl area which houses predator animals such as lions, crocodiles, have to get the tickets from the zoo prior to visit.
Though the Chiang Mai Night Safari claims be the largest, most beautiful, most modern Night Safari with the best restaurants in the world by its project’s committee, when compared to the Night Safaris in Singapore and Guangxi, China, there are still some major flaws which need to be improved upon.
Location:
Chiangmai night Safari is located on Doisuthep-Pui National Park under the administration of Mae-here, and Suthep District and Nongkwaii District, Hangdong, Chiang Mai Province that covers about 819 rais. It is far from the heart of Chiang Mai about 11 kilometers. Traveling by car on Huay Kaew Road, turn left to the high way no. 121 to Amphor Hangdong about 10 kilometers, and then turn right about 2 kilometers.

It is the synchronization of colorful light, melodies, and water jet projected on the 12x20-meters water screen creating a great dimension which seems like flowing in the air. The colorful fountain would screw up and down together with melodies among the CnS nature, floating on the silent Swan Lake.
